ParticipantI couldn’t wait to paint these walls on our grand design! I have redone another rv in the past and painted it all white and it looked so much better and when we got ready to sell it well, it went fast! It takes some times in those spaces to do because there isn’t a lot of wall space that doesn’t have windows or something on them like cabinets. You will need to make sure the walls are clean. If you do a lot of frying in your rv then for sure wash them down with a solution of dawn and water to cut the grease or any degreaser product like TSP. Now its paint time. You will need to apply two coats of your color. No need to prime in our rv. I bought flat washable Walmart paint! Yep it was like $17 a gallon and it is washable cuz I have washed marks off the walk with a magic eraser and even wet dog food off the wall with a sponge. Thats it for paint. I suggest if you aren’t really good at painting to tape off. I used a medium size roller cuz a regular house size wasn’t usable much. I also had a small one handy for little areas. You need a good tapered brush as well…not a $1 store one but one that has a short handle in my opinion and tapered. I think I got mine at home depot for like $6 ..has a blue handle on it. You can use a satin paint also if you want a shiner but not SHINE look. It is washable as well. Good luck and go for it!!!! OH I painted my cabinets with chalk paint so it would stick!!! that’s another subject I can talk on too.

ParticipantThank you so much! We just bought a 2018 Momentum for full timing shortly and I really don’t like the dark cabinets and wondered what I could do! You relieved my anxiety about painting, although I’ll still have to talk my husband into it!

KeymasterWe see so many people who paint their cabinets so it is totally doable. I love it when they do color instead of white and have seen amazing RV kitchens with gray, green or even navy.

ParticipantI got bored this summer because we weren’t camping much and decided to paint all the woodwork in our RV. I used chalk paint and did two coats. Some cabinets were painted “Savannah Mist” (a grey-blue), and the wood trim, fridge and lower kitchen cabinets are “Vintage Duck Egg” (a grey-green). I love the difference it made! One thing I did find out is that the chalk paint does chip easily, but touch-up is a breeze. I’ll just keep some paint and a brush handy and touch up every now and then.
