New series starts today! 2 Weeks of Travel Tweaks to take you from travel to adventure! Today I’m giving my top 3 tips for saving money on your RV travels and more. Let’s get this started, baby!
Be selective about seasons
No one wants to visit Cancun during Spring Break. Or NYC on the 4th of July. This is where it’s important to plan your travel around something called a Shoulder Season. This is a sweet spot of travel. Where the weather is still nice, but the crowds are dwindling down.
Where do you want to go? When is its shoulder season?
These questions are going to help you save so much money!
Slow down
The number one tip I see over and over is this one! If you’re looking to save money while traveling, never by a nightly rate. Get weekly or monthly rates to drastically reduce your costs!
My friends Chickery’s Travels and how they only spent $100 more than me on a camp site and were able to spend 20 more days than me at an amazing resort. DUH!
Slowing down also helps you save in fuel costs!
Use a VPN.
This stands for Virtual Private Network.
I highly recommend watching the video above to see how it works, but basically you can trick the internet into thinking you’re in a different country and it will show you cheaper rates. Of course, this might not help you with campgrounds, but for other types of travel, it’s great!
